The fleet tracking service enables basic two-way text messaging between users
of the service and vehicle drivers.
On the service, the messages are presented in a familiar e-mail application style,
with separate folders for incoming and outgoing messages. An automated receipting
process verifies whether messages have been successfully delivered to the device,
as well as whether they've been read.
Inside the vehicle the messaging functionality is largely dependant upon the chosen hardware,
but features such as canned or stock messages are typically provided for quick
and easy communication.
Low cost
In most cases the messages are sent efficiently over GPRS which means the cost is
negligible when compared to typical network SMS rates.
